Prepare a few small spaces
A hook at your child's height, a shelf with a few chosen toys, a step stool at the sink, and a low drawer with cups and plates change daily life more than any product.
Give real work
Sorting laundry, watering plants, cracking eggs, and setting the table are all deeply satisfying to a young child and build genuine skill.
Language that supports independence
Describe instead of praise: "you carried that all the way by yourself" tells a child more than "good job."
