Health and safety

Outdoor learning and careful supervision belong together. Here is how we keep children safe while they take real, healthy risks.

Supervision and risk

Adults position themselves for sight lines rather than hovering. Tools, climbing, and water work each have a taught procedure before a child may use them independently.

Illness and allergies

Children stay home with fever, vomiting, or contagious symptoms until they are twenty-four hours clear. Allergy plans are posted, and staff carry required medications on outings.

Weather and emergencies

We monitor heat, air quality, and storms, and move indoors when needed. Emergency drills, first aid kits, and current CPR and pediatric first aid certification are standard.
